Welcome to Mary Meinhard & Associates
Medical-Legal Consulting
Mary Meinhard is a Nurse Attorney, Certified Life Care Planner, Board-Certified Nurse Case Manager, and Medicare Set-Aside Consultant-Certified with offices in California and Nevada. Her background in Critical Care Nursing since 1977, and her licensure in California as an Attorney since 1990, provides her with a unique medical/legal perspective. She understands the complex needs of catastrophically/critically injured individuals, as well as chronically ill patients, and possesses the skills to articulate those needs within the context of a comprehensive Life Care Plan, while considering Medicare's mandates. The end result is a credible Life Care Plan, Critique/Rebuttal Life Care Plan, and/or Preliminary Life Care Needs and Cost Analysis (i.e., "Mini" Life Care Plan), that accurately identifies potential lifetime case management needs, and the associated legal damages, for claims personnel, opposing counsel, mediators, arbitrators, judges and juries.
Mary also holds certification from the Pepperdine University School of Law Straus Institute for Alternative Dispute Resolution, which, combined with her medical/legal background, provides a distinct advantage in mediating personal injury cases - especially when competing Life Care Plans are at issue.
She is available to assist with a wide range of litigation-support services, including, but not limited to: Preparation of Plaintiff/Defense Life Care Plans; Critique of Opposing Life Care Plans; Joint Life Care Plans; "Mini" Life Care Plans; Preparation of Medicare Set-Aside Allocations/Arrangements; Chronological Review and Summary of Medical Records; Case Merit and Medical Expenses Evaluation; Attendance at Independent Medical Examinations; Deposing Expert Witnesses, particularly Life Care Planners and Medical Experts; Drafting Legal Documents (i.e., Motions, Settlement Conference/Mediation Briefs); Preparation of Questions for Expert Depositions/Trial Testimony; etc.
